The location in Timonium will remain open.īaltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski released this statement: “We were just informed that PayPal was planning to close one of its Baltimore County locations. Until then all employees will have positions. The transition from PayPal to Synchrony is expected to be done late June, the Hunt Valley location will close at that time. Employees will receive career coaching, job search and resume assistance, information on networking, and interview training. Last week, County Executive Kevin Kamenetz wrote a letter to PayPal President and CEO Dan Schulman encouraging the company to expand its existing Hunt Valley. Employees are being offered career coaching and advice from dedicated, on-site, career transition placement professionals and career coaches. Career areas include call center jobs, corporate, government support, retail, sales and IT. PayPal will be providing comprehensive separation packages, career outplacement and employee assistance programs. We are fully committed to helping employees transition to the next steps in their careers." "We value the work of our Hunt Valley teammates and are making every effort to identify new opportunities for them both inside and outside of PayPal. Officials with PayPal say the restructuring is part of the previously announced plan to transition PayPal Credit to Synchrony. PayPal will be closing its Hunt Valley offices, and laying off 380 workers.
